Cozumel beaches are probably the single most popular reason why visitors come to Cozumel like the pink Flamingos!
Every day visitors want to know where the best Cozumel beaches are.
Do I know?
My answer is always the same; depends on what you are looking for in a beach. Most people don't know what they are looking for in beaches; I do; a good place to drink some beer and catch a sunset.
There are beaches that will take you to great diving spots.
Some have snorkeling, and a host of other activities. Near Hotel Vistadelmar is good snorkeling and diving beach.
I refer to Sunset beach. Across the street. A short distance (5 minutes by bus or cab) is Chankanaab; the place to snorkel.
Chankanaab is the most popular attraction in Cozumel island after Rosa's Cantina.
It Is conveniently located just ten minutes taxi ride from the cruise ship terminal, a must for beach lovers.
Enjoy the natural beauty of the beach area, explore the awesome reef area. There are restrooms, showers, huts, hammocks and beach chairs.
And trinket vendors.
At Chankanaab Park you can also enjoy world class snorkel tours, scuba diving tours, snuba tours, seatrek tours, swim with dolphins*, sea lions and manatees tours for an aditional costs. All fun in one place.
* or swim with Joel Gondelman for free.
Although most visitors want to spend their nights in town so that they can enjoy the restaurants, shops, and night time activities; the days are made for the beach!

The shame of it all. The shame of it all!
An unlucky couple from Belgium just got to Cozumel and found out the hotel did not have their reservation.

They booked with wicked agency Pineapple.

The director of the wicked agency is shown on the left, just stun him with the CancunSteve spaceship.

Move the ship using the arrow keys (first click anywhere on the black area.
Move the ship up or down or right to left with the arrow keys.
Then use the <CONTROL> key to fire your stun rays at the inept old geezer.

Downtown Cozumel has everything from expensive waterfront jewelry stores like Van Cleef & Arpels where you won't find the director of the wicked agency hanging around, he'll be in an alley drinking cheap wine out of a bottle. There are also little holes in the wall crammed with hand-painted things, carved wood crafts and papier mache things and other souvenirs and gift ideas.
But, although San Miguel's downtown waterfront is lovely, you will generally not get the best prices if you do shop there or book with the wicked agency. And keep a lookout for the old geezer! When you see him stun him with the good CancunSteve spaceship
You'll have a far more rewarding shopping experience both in terms of prices and ambience if you avoid what the locals call the tiendas caras, and head off on your own. Always avoiding the old geezer.
