This meteoroligal phenemonon hit Cancun hard but Cancun is back on its feet.

As I live here and seen the hurricane hit I can monitor progress. Clean-up and restoration of electric and water as well as phones lines completed in most areas.
As some hotels more damaged than others you need to verify on a hotel by hotel basis. In cancun our Blue Bay Getaway guests check-in end of November.
I walked around Isla Mujeres yesterday observing minimal damage to our hotels. Electric and phones out for now. Should be back in two weeks.
The Mexican government has done miracles in Playa del Carmen where electric, water, phones fine most hotels we offer. We have a group of 18 people checking in to our Hotel Fusion in less than 2 weeks.

Update on Cancun malls December 6, 2005 |
Many of Cancun's malls now operational. Plaza Kukulcan and Caracol now open, while Forum by the Sea, La Isla, and Flamingo set to open the 15th of December.
Plaza Americas downtown open since some time.
